Tina M. Erickson

CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL CAREER COACH

I’m driven to support professionals who are committed to having a positive impact on the world.

At one point in my nonprofit career, I greatly benefited from the assistance of a professional career coach. She guided me through a challenging work environment, and as a result, I was able to have a great influence on the situation for the better. Much later when I was ready to transition my career, I thought of the impact my coach had on my life… and I knew I wanted to help others in a similar way.

So I became a certified professional coach through a program recognized by the International Coaching Federation.

When working with clients, I help them to see new perspectives on the changes they want to make for themselves. I get to watch them experience career transformations, large and small—and I’m greatly fulfilled to be alongside their journeys.

I bring extensive experience and a strong commitment to my clients. I’ll support and motivate you as you give back to the world through your work.

Professional Experience

For 36 years, I dedicated my career to the public and nonprofit sectors.

After studying political science at university, I began my career as a congressional aide and political fundraiser in Washington D.C. I moved to Chicago in 1994 and served in leadership positions in diverse nonprofit settings—vice president of institutional advancement at a university, a foundation administrator, vice president of external relations at a human services organization, and director of development at two advocacy organizations. I managed staff and teams in every position that I held during my career.

In addition to coaching individuals since 2019, I have also worked with organizations on recruitment and hiring, fundraising goals, board management, and strategic plans. For 2021-22, I was selected to be a Core Concept Coach for the Chicago Foundation for Women’s grantee program.

Community & Volunteer

I’ve been active in the Chicago area nonprofit sector for 25 years.

I’ve provided volunteer service with Forefront, Chicago Women in Philanthropy (CWIP), Women in Development Professions, and have served on boards and peer group committees.  Additionally, I’ve been a mentor several times through CWIP’s professional mentorship program. In 2023, I was elected to the board of the Zacharias Sexual Abuse Center.

Residing in Evanston, I enjoy being active in my community, spending time with my family, and traveling the world.
